emily millar photography
When I first received an email from Emily the day she received this beautiful kimono telling me she was planning to use it for a photoshoot, it took only a moment to open another tab and begin the stalking of her blog and Facebook (come on, don't say you don't do this... riiiiight?! right?!) It didn't take much for me to realise that this uber talented Rockhampton based girl had some serious talent behind the lens, with her photography transporting me to some other world... one of soft hues and gentle haze, where souls are unmasked and beauty is organic and RAW. Theres something very grounded about her photographs even amidst the glitter and fairy dust, something that I can't quite put my finger on nor find the proper wording for but something very vulnerable, almost like she's not just looking for that pretty picture, but something more real, something more authentic, something behind the makeup and pretty clothing. Perhaps this is the hazy imagery or the models she captures, perhaps it says something about her personality & the seeking of more organic experiences & connections, having not met her in the flesh I can't say but either way I find it beautifully refreshing.
I feel very grateful to have our kimono apart of these pics and even more so to Emily who brought us in to her vision. Please go follow Emily on Facebook here, tumblr here and instagram here.
